A paragraph is a series of sentences that conveys a single theme. Paragraphs help writers organise thoughts, actions, and descriptions into readable units of information. The paragraph, as a unit of text, may have one of several functions. It may be descriptive, giving certain details or impressions about a person, thing, or event. It may be instructive, explaining a method or procedure. It may be conceptual, stating thoughts, feelings, or opinions.
Joining parts of sentences (phrases and clauses), sentences and paragraphs to make text more cohesive e.g. I went shopping then I went to the gym. I bought a dress and a hat.
